Forums - Microsoft - Well I'm thinkin of gettin a 360...

I actually would've had one already if it wasn't for the hardware issues. I didn't like the idea of owning a console known for breaking down. Then there's the disc scratching thing which was even worse for me since I always try to buy my games used.

I planned on buying the new Elite bundle with Halo3/Fable2, but it'd end up costing me much more than the PS3 did since I'd have to buy the wireless adapter/Live card/battery stuff.

Do you guys think it'll get a price drop sometime before 2010? I'm probably gonna give my PS3 till GT5's release to decide whether I really wanna sell it for a 360 or not - I've spent $700 on it so far and it doesn't get much use (had it for 6 months now). Yes, this is partially a rant.....I could've used that money on so many other things. I did buy a ps3 for some of the exclusives, but pretty much all of them dissapointed me. I still do plan on selling alot of my games and maaayyybe if I find a person/place willing to give me a good offer, the ps3 itself.

I really want a 360 for L4D/Halo3/GEoW2. I miss doing some splitscreen/co-op action. It's also pretty lame when friends come over and my only ps3 exclusives with 2+players are Warhawk and LBP (which I never play anymore). There's also a few other reasons I've been wonderin if I should get a 360...

Buy your 360 during the holiday season, if there isn't a price cut by October, then there won't be one till the next year. 360's have a 3 year warranty and that disc scratching problem only occurs when you move your console, plus you could just save the game to the hard drive so the disc won't spin.

Oh shi-

I had no idea about that. I wanted an Elite in the first place because I planned on installing everygame but didn't know it'd completely stop possible scratches - I had a 360 for a month and the damn thing was way too loud. It got really annoying especially at night when I kept the volume low.

One option is the white Elite, basicaly get your Xbox 360 Arcade for $199 and then when you've got the cash on hand grab the 120GB HDD. That way you don't have to outlay too much money at any one time.

I could probably do that. How much is the 120gb HDD? Are there any smaller options for cheaper? I'd be fine with about 60-80.

120 gig is around $150
60 gig is around $100

The Failure thing was really address the New Console where changed a bit to reduce RROD happening plus the 3 year warranty you don't have to pay for.....The Bundle Is a awesome Deal..You get a ton of stuff for free..Wireless head set,HDMI cables two games and free netflix trail...I say get it...If you don't have to trade in your PS3 don't......But if cash is the Problem...The Only thing Xbox 360 don't have is the Sony games....

Theres the starter kit for $80 on Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-60GB-LIVE-Starter-Pack/dp/B001HHWFEY/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1241747225&sr=8-9

Otherwise you'd be paying up to $150 for a 120GB HDD.

Though you should probably wait up till E3 which is in June. There are chances of either an awesome deal coming up or an announcement of a deal at E3. Its about a month away and it may be worth the wait.
