Sony has patented all sorts of crazy ass controllers

Looks expensive but cool.

Voice activated stuff? It's a neat tech feature but nothing else.

Unimpressive.

Anyway, it's just a patent, could end up never actually coming to anything.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

the diagram has WiiBoard written all over it.

GPS?? now dat's geeky

Aww, no rumble? Ah well, nice improvements, but what am I do with the old controllers when I get these?

Bet with OriGin: Within 1 year Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be ahead of Mario Kart Wii (when aligning the one whole year from each region). 2 week ban from Vgchartz for the loser. Edit: Darn! Looks like OriGin will win.

Mehh, corps patent anything they can.

Voice input has been something Nintendo has been doing for a few years now. Voice recognition software is something a bit different however.

The pressure sensitive is a mat similar to Wii Balance Board or a DDR mat.

Nothing here really new or supplementary but would work as complementary additions to the current input methods. Why did the article say buttons anyway?

As most have already said, lots of tech gets patented and never used so we'll see.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

I have to admit, while this can be a positive step, it's nothing we haven't seen in some form or another over the last few years in this industry from both Nintendo and Sony.

The pressure-sensitive buttonwork is something Sony and Microsoft already have, to an extent. Super-pressurizing them doesn't seem like it will really affect it all that much.

Voice-activation is a definite plus, it just took Sony a few years of watching Nintendo milk that idea for all its worth to realize "Oh hey, maybe that's a good idea".
