Forums - Gaming - The effects of Motion controls for PS3 and 360

There have been rumors going around for awail now about both the 360 and PS3 getting motion controls similar to Wii.  With E3 just around the corner I thought some speculating was in order, not with regard to if they will implement such functionality or how the motion controls might work, but more in regards to the potential changes something like this might mean for sales.

Do you see something like this negatively effecting Wii sales or bosting the sales of the others?

Do you see developers backing motion functionality on the HD systems to capitalize (i.e. make multi-platfrom)  previously wii exclusive software?

Or do you think something like this will just see limited support and just end up another marketing me to/check on the box; due to the fact that the install base of HD players using it will be low compared to say something like the wii where all players have it right out of the box?

Around the Network

unless they bundle this with every new console or bundle it in such a way that nearly every one gets it it will not get great support.

Sadly this because its just too late. Next gen should be interesting though.

Motion controls can be awesome Wii is just a first step and obviously tons of flaws which is why peopel are hating.

Again next gen should be interesting.

Normally I'd agree; due to the fact that additional controlers and attachments have always seen limited success. But I can also see developers making cross platform titles that would otherwise be wii only. The cost could be very little for them to do this and may translate into more software sales for these titles.
