This is one of those niche minigame games from Japan, that have a really weird premise to tie them together. These have been around for years, so this is actually justified on the Wii.

The premise here is that a mereor is heading to Earth, and someone knows how to make a device to stop it. Evidently, he hasn't convinced any government to give him funds, to he does a bunch of odd jobs to buy the parts he needs of a home shopping channel.
Told you it was weird.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
