I'm glad you have Blue Dragon on your list. That game is so underrated.

Since you seem to like RPGs, I would recommend you to have an eye on "Risen".
But Fable II + DLC, Fallout 3 + DLC and Mass Effect + DLC should keep you busy for a long time.
You should also try Left 4 Dead. It is awesome. Gears 1 / 2 is great, too.
And if you like a survival/horror game with RPG elements in it, you should get Dead Space.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
If you want to get the arcade then your eligible for the deal on Microsoft's website where you can get a 20gb hard-drive for $20 which I think is around 10 pounds. That would be the cheapest path to a hard-drive but I would recommend getting a pro if your planning on downloading a lot of things from live.
Also don't forget there's a lot of demos on xbox live so you can always give a game a try and see if you like it before you buy it. And if your into shooters then you can't go wrong with Halo 3, Gears of War 1/2 and Left 4 dead. Ninja Gaiden II, Bioshock,
Halo Wars and Star Ocean 4 are all really good too.

| Lolcislaw said: Well i was thinking about it for a long time, Wii brought me back to gaming big time in 2007, time to expand my gaming library with different system. Funds were the problem in the past, but ive just found out that i got a good payed job for the summer (which should help me with Uni mainly) so i can finally buy another system. Probably in the end of May beginning of June. Beetween 360 and PS3, 360 is a clear winner for me, mainly due to the huge price difference of it and also the western RPG's released for it. To save money im really tempted just to get an Arcade or a Used Pro (i know the RROD but it will have at least 12 month warranty) since it will be my secondary system (for WRPG's, JRPG's, some fighters and RE5) next to the Wii . Just to ask few questions: If i buy an Arcade can i still use all the features? (apart from stuff that requires the HDD)(Yep you can even play online without a HDD and since games dont require a HDD install your good to go!) If after buying an Arcade i buy used Harddrive will my Xbox be able to use DLC like PRO or Elite?(Yea) Or should i just save some more cash (wanted just to get few more games instead) and get a Pro?(Arcade will be fine unless you sit close to your TV then HDD will have Optional Installs whcih help alot)
Games that im planning to buy in near future (bolded the ones im getting straight away): Mass Effect (got a PC version, but yet to play it, im more likely to start after buying new system) Fallout 3 (love it, im separated from my PC at home, so that would enable me to play again and play the DLC) Lost Odyssey Tales of Vesperia (when it releases in PAL) Blue Dragon Resident Evil 5 Fable II New Fight Night Any other games that you think would interest me? Are there any Zelda like games on the 360 worth trying?
Fable 2 is like Zelda kinda,And buy Left4Dead (L4Deezy) |
What i said
@Garnett playing online without HDD? Is that a new feature? Because I know full well that this wasn't the case when we set up the 360 last year.
@Samuel
No you could always play without an hdd, I don't know why it didn't work for you?

I know there's tons of advices get thrown around here but if you are really strap for cash then go with Arcade unit. Then when you are ready just save up some money and get the 60gb HD. Who know by then it might drop in price. You can also get 20gb for cheap but I don't recommend it since you will end up upgrade it down the road because there are so much stuff on XBL not to mention the install game feature.
Arcade pack is perfectly capable of playing majority of the games. There are only a small numbers of game on 360 that require HD.
there are also a ton of used 20 GB drives on eBay cheap from people who have upgraded to a 120GB or a 60GB from their original Pro.
