That's strange, why does windows 7 work with DX9 video cards? Is there something that I missed here?

On a side note, I will probably start downloading this today when I get home.

EDIT:  Has anyone had driver problems using the 64 bit version of Windows 7 yet?

been running RC1 for over two weeks now..

If I recall correctly, the OS won't take up 16gb, it just requires that amount for installation (like Vista required 15gb), once the installation is complete, the amount of space it takes up drops quite a bit.

That's interesting...they should really include that information, if it's say 10 gigs, that'd be much better.  Still a lot for the size HD I have, but still MUCH better=P

they said 16 and 20 just to avoid lawsuits, if one person had a install amount of 17 gb all hell will break loose.  Another thing is I have 64-bit and my windows install only take about 13 gb of space much lower than the 20 min.

When I had Vista Ultimate, it took up space for the installation, but after the upgrade the OS asks if you want to delete the excess files needed for installation anymore.

Installed the 32bit version yesyerday

Partitioned off a 40GB section of my HDD for it
Installed full versions of some progs such as OOOrg, Office 2007 pro, Acrobat 8 pro etc and still have just on 30GB free (1GB page file included).

No hassles yet, seems pretty damned quick (faster than Vista SP1 and as fast as XP SP3 so far), and surprisingly well supported driver-wise. I suppose they're basically using Vista drivers but I've had no major issues device wise...

color me impressed.
must test more...

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

Ive never installed a beta for on OS. So Im kinda scared since Ive also never backed up my PC/HDD. =/

I wanna try Win7 bad but not tech savy enough to mess with an OS like this...yet =(

the installation size is 5GB
