Forums - Sony Discussion - UMD a waste of time and money, says Dave Perry

^^ lol
The solution is simple : DS- like cartridges; they are the only option on portables (bigger capacity than 1Gbit of course).

you don't wants loading times in a handheld, that's the advantage of the DS, it's reduced to a minimum

@Hus,

What exactly is so bad about his ideas in your opinion? The part where he would make it cheaper or the part where he would try to get people to make games specifically for the system?

 can he prove its a waste of money, no.

he whines about it then pretty much makes the case for its existance, stores wont carry psp if they cant sale games for it.

 digital downloads my ass, nintendo is still using cartriges in their handheds while sony will be pushing Br with their consoles.

It's a waste of money because no one is buying the PSP for its games anymore. With the exception of the occasional big title like Crisis Core, the PSP is a piracy-bound handheld. That is the only thing that's keeping it alive.

Nintendo is still using cartridges while Sony is using [s]Blu-Ray[/s] UMD. Well golly, look who came out on top in that decision.

How much is a 16GB MS? That would be enough, I think.

The MS with most capacity is 8Gb (made by Sony). Is about 170-200$.

 Was using BR because that's what Hus had said.  Could just as easily replace "Blu-Ray" with "UMD" in that statement and the validity is identical.
