It just isn't though.  That's the thing.  

Your trying to prove it... but you haven't come up with a salient point yet.

And.. really I think that's your problem.

Your trying to prove it.  You aren't trying to analyze the situation.  Your trying to prove the PS3 would be a viable system for it... because you want it to be for it.

For example.  I want Super Robot Wars for PS3.  I woudln't begin to argue it's a viable or likely platform for it though.   Just like persona it's a niche series where PS3 is the least likely candidate because handhelds rule the SRW games, Wii has a bigger install base and likely has more of the core fans... and they've already made a SRW 360 game... so even then there is an engine already ready for 360.

It didn't sell well for a niche title.

It cost more... and sold less then previous titles.

Furthermore it's a SRPG.

 

Demon souls is also nothing like P5.  It's a better arguement for why MH3 would sell on the PS3 then P5.

How is an Action RPG niche?  Action RPGs are the most popular RPGS there are.

From what NIS has said, it sounds like they made a profit off it.

 



Prediction:

TGS this year for PS3 will be amazing.

Grandia comes to PSN(PSone classic).

First Versus gameplay this year.

You really think that would be enough?  It wouldn't be for me.  I mean think of the implications.

Persona 5.  That's one of your biggest brands.  Not to mention releasing it on PS3 would almost definitly mean needing to reuse the engine... which would mean reusing a lot of the art assets... but not all of them.

Which means for future games they would need to make HD models of at least the quality sony was funding so it fits in with the previously reused monster models.

Which would cost that same money.

If it were me... it'd take a multi-game funding gurantee.

 

They can just use the engine Sony made for devs then.

...Have Sony fund them again? I highly doubt they're so poor they can't even make a few more models, with the profit they'd make from the PS3 game.

well in all honesty it could go to Wii, PS3, PSP, or DS and i would be fine, I Hate the " put it on the Wii thing, and the " 3rd party company is stupid or it doesn't make sense for it to be exclusive to PS3", you haven't made any set stone point as to why Wii would be a better choice, youve made possible reasons but thats another point Torillian was saying we really dont know what goes in to these choices or how big the budget is or where the fanbase is, for all we know we could arguing and 360 has whole fanbase

Really?  I haven't heard much other then then that they plan to make more games.  Which I would assume you would since they stated they studied the PS3 for like a year before they started work on it.

It'd be wasted time otherwise.

Regardless... as stated... it's not really the same auidence.

I'd be interested if someone who spoke japanese would translate their financial reort.  Since the crappy half assed internet translations I could find seemed to suggest the opposite.  All I can find is people talking about how the financial report called disgaea 3's sales disapointing.
