MOTION CONTROL (clarification: a wand style motion control)

What kind of games do you think we could expect?

Do you think we might get a lot of amazing software, or would it be a lot of crap?

Do you think they could implement it better than Nintendo does?

Would 360 be in a really good position, being the cheapest console?

Around the Network

Nintendo would just go back to old style controls so they would be different. Copycats suck.

Predictions for 2009: (Right) (Wrong) (Partial)

Pokemon Gold/Silver DS Japan in September

NES colored Wii and SNES Classic Controler for Christmas

Super Role Bros for Christmas

FF Remakes announced; VII PS3 VIII 360 IX Wii

New Super Mario World November 2009

They would get Wii ports.

Nintendo still doomed?

@pikaboo

I'm talking in addition to the normal controls. Sony and MS will never abandon the regular controller.

@supermario

Is that a good thing?

umm, all FPS's definitely would have motion

Around the Network

I think Sony and Micro already have Motion Controlers in the works

Sony already have a motion sensitive controller.

@Demonsoul

I know, that's what I'm asking. Would they be less/equal/more successful than the wii's implementation?

The PS3 already has motion control. It's actually pretty responsive considering it doesn't use a sensor bar.

When I play Wii games that do motion control well, it's because it's not overdone, like Galaxy.

It add's flavor to the game when done right, and feels gimicky and annoying when done wrong.

@Xxain, what your forgetting is that Nintendo planned well in advance to put a targeting recticule (ir camera pointer) on the wiimote itself. Not only did they copyright the tech, and the design itself of movement plus pointer in the remote, but they did this 3 yrs ago while HD machines were making all the fps games. Its really ironic and funny.

Fps with motion is kinda irrelivent without pointer control, well i think so anyway.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
