Paint brush will make it look...well brushed. If you want a natural looking finish, definately go with a spray of some sort and lay it in nice even layers. You don't have to get full coverage on the first go around (meaning you may still see grey through the paint). If you lay it on too hot you will run into problems with paint running all over the place. Let it flash a good 10-15 minutes between coats.
