Forums - Gaming - Analyst: No New Console Cycle Before 2013

Well (assuming what hes saying is true) thats good news for the PS3.

Around the Network

He should stop talking about that stupid WiiHD. It won't happen.

As for the new generation, I don't know when it's going to happen but I do know I don't want it anytime soon. Let me enjoy my consoles before you upgrade them.

Signature goes here!

I just don't see Nintendo having the stamina to hyper-extend the generation. At the very least, the nuances of the Japanese market will force them to upgrade, and i don't feel that they have the ability to keep the software releases coming for another 4 years.

Trying to push the Wii too long would be very damaging for them.

As for Microsoft, i feel that they will move by 2011 also, because they'll want to bring out a console that's more in line with what's going on in PC. I mean, 360 isn't on the level with Direct X 10 and Vista, is it? Windows 7 and Direct X 11 are around the corner, and Microsoft was never in this for profit (though they might be more hesitant to bleed themselves in this time)

Sony could stand to hold out longer. Get the console down, profit a while, and work aggressively to make sure that the PS3 remains relevant while the next generation starts without them, but then they can move into the next generation more cautiously.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I´m expecting the next generation to start on 2012.
