Wow! there aren't many games about these days that everyone seems to love! is it really that good then?! and won't it be a bit late for me to start playing when everyone else will be really good at it?!

I usually like the same chance as everyone else so buy on release date but I didn't with L4D as I didn't know much about it

It truly is an amazing online experience.

No need to worry about been a newcomer either, it's 4 v 4 online so despite been new to the game you'll have back up in the form of your other 3 buddys until you learn the ropes.

The learning curve is minimal anyway.......... but the feeling you get from causing severe damage as a boomer or a tank is always satisfying.

You could also host an online match and just invite one buddy and play on opposing teams (you and 3 other infected A.I. vs your buddy and 3 human A.I. until you get the hang of using the infected)........ problem solved

Good co-op shooters like this are rare

I tried it out on the "play for free" day at Steam and I don't think it's that great.

I mean, it sure is a solid experience with some good moments, but I just didn't feel the amazement that many people here have expressed. Maybe online co-op is just not my thing.

Assult rifle is my only weapon of choice... on the roof of the hospital two guys with assult rifles and two with shotguns can hold off wave after wave in the small room by the radio

No man... jump in the game... you'll get a few idiots, but for the most part the community is full of great people.  I added 4 friends in just 3 hours that I played with time and again.  It's jsut to bad I rented the game.

Yeah, it is just so good. Having a game of survival/versus/expert campaign with some mates drains away the hours like you wouldnt believe. Fantastic combination of zombie slaying and teamwork. Loving all the new stats, too. And as soon as the SDK comes out, there will be a flood of new material to make it even better! Best game of last year for me.

Edit: @ NJ5: just out of interest, what did you different game modes/ maps did you play?

Bet With routsounmanman: By the end of Q1 2008 Capcom WONT have announced a RE5 Wii Edition OR a new RE (classic gameplay) for the Wii (WON)

I think it was the campaign mode. I played like the first 5 levels (by level I mean a part ending in a safe house by closing the door).

This is probably my favourite game this generation. No game this generation has given me as many hours of enjoyment as this game has.

Campaign is a great to start off with, and has incredible replay value by increasing the difficulty. Then there's versus for when you get bored of the campaign or want something different, and it offers endless amounts of fun...and now there's a new mode called survival which is great for veterans and newcomers comers alike.

The game's concept is so simple yet the game is so much fun to play. I have nothing but praise for the game.
