That would be awsome and I'm all for it. 360 players might have an advantage though simply because the competitive fps community is much larger and better organized than on the PS3 but thats changing with games like KZ2 being released.
It would be epic though having 360 vs PS3 clans for say COD 4, the ultimate fanboy wars.
The definitive evidence that video games turn people into mass murderers
It's amazing how huge CoD has become, it's overthrown MoH as the mainstream FPS.

I wouldn't rule out EA's overstretching the MoH franchise...

You lie, that's incredible, but seriously, can anybody else confirm this, I thought the opening weekend was more like 2.8 million.

Nope, it was around 4 million. I think it sold in the region of 2.5 million in 1 day in the U.S. and I read in a gaming magazine that it globally sold 3.3 million in 24 hours, and that it was a record until Grand Theft Auto IV, which did 300,000 more.

Exactly what i was gonna say.
It's gonna do better than MW 1 but on the 360 alone it won't beat halo 3 on opening weekend or lifetime. On opening weekend in all platforms it has a slight chance, SLIGHT, of beating halo 3's opening weekend.
COD is a hell of a brand but it is not halo big. Halo made a console RTS sell 1 million copies! RTS's are a niche genre and even more so on consoles. Only the hardcore of the hardcores in mind.
I meant 1 million, typo, relax ppl.

And those 1 million copies were sold in record time...
There seems to be two different arguments here. Will Modern Warfare 2 out do Halo 3's opening week and the other will Modern Warfare 2 out sell Halo 3's lifetime sales.
If you are going strictly on the Xbox 360 platform for sales of MW2 and H3 for the opening week, no I don't see it having a chance to outdo Halo 3. If you combine PS3 and Xbox 360 sales for the opening week, maybe. But I don't think it is set in stone thing.
On the debate of weather it will oustell Halo 3's lifetime sales, I don't see it happening strictly on the Xbox 360 platform. Halo 3 will be going down in price, bundled and Halo 3: ODST an expansion is coming out for it which will boost the sales of Halo 3. If you combine X360 and PS3 sales yes it could. Both have a bigger userbase than when Halo 3 launched and Halo 3 is a Xbox 360 exclusive so it doesn't have the chance to have that userbase.
