Halo 3 has the biggest opening weekend this Generation, Biggest game on the Xbox 360 and Most Played game on Xbox Live. But could this all change? Megaman.2. conducts an analasis

First of all when Call of Duty 4 released many people including myself did not know what to expect from Cod4 would it deliver or not? Would it live up to the hype and expectations? my god it delivered. Call of duty 4 in my opinion is the best shooter ever made, its a perfect package. Both single player and multiplayer modes are sublime. Call of duty 4 took the crown of Halo 3 and scooped every major awards.

If there is one game, gamers are patiently waiting for is Modern Warfare 2. Any gamer I have spoken to have said that this their no1 game, after that horrible Cod5 - Modern Warfare 2 cant come any sooner!

So is it possible for Modern Warfare 2 to outpeform Halo 3? I think it has a chance, this game upon release will break records maybe even Halo 3 opening weekend but maybe it's too much to ask. I know x360 owners love their shooters and this is best shooter to come on the x360 for 2009. Ifinity ward are known for producing quality games cod2, cod4 unlike Treyarch lol.

This game has the potential to outsell Halo 3 lifetime sales, with the x360 being at a bigger userbase compared to 2007 MW2 has all the ingredients to become the no1 X360 game of all time. However if Halo 3 is bundled than it maybe unlikely but we should not consider the sales when it's bundled its cheating in a way .

MW2 will be at the top of the Live users charts for a while, but I seriously doubt it will outsell Halo 3 on the 360.

Why not? cod4 has sold 7m+ on a smaller userbase, everyone knows how good cod4 and will likely purchase modern warfare2 look at sales of cod5 it was a shitty game but it sold wonders the cod brand is stronger than halo if you ask me.

CoD5 is the reason.

I suspect that it will do as well as COD4 and better than WAW, but not better than Halo 3.

I expect the combined sales of Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3 and 360 to exceed Halo 3. On each separate platform, not likely. The PS3 doesn't have the attach rate, and Halo is still the king of the Xbox brand.

I expect huge sales for it.
