OK now go back and read my post like I did for you. Skimming won't give you the information I'm trying to get across to you..
Also the Wii Remote isn't seen as a spot because it isn't seen at all, the Wii Remote has a camera in the end of it to see the two ends of the sensor bar, that's how it knows where it is, yeah exactly where it is in the room.. and i play my Wii laying on bed all the time so I don't know what the hell your on about with the sensor bar range.. Have you played a Wii?
Also Nintendo aren't 'too arrogant' to go in the red.. Gaming is their ONLY business, if they go in the red they pretty much die. You complain about batteries too.. I have recharables, they work fine.. I don't have to charge my controllers and wait to play a game, are PS3 batteries removable?
Also if you look at the American market the transistion from SNES to PS1 or even PS2 eras.. The percentage of households with a game console at the end of the generation has ALWAYS hovered around 33% so this whole 'PS1 made gaming mainstream stuff' really isn't true.. Also 3D was always coming.. you make it seem like Sony invented the idea.. I mean even the SNES had 3D with Starfox. Nobody 'made it mainstream' it was always going to be the natural progression. Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time were the 3D benchsetters of the time. Super Mario 64 showed better than any game on PS1 what 3D really meant. It was always gonna go mainstream though..
Anyway go back and read my post. It's more about the reasons behind the choices and the pushing of gaming. Sony have brought some good things yes and the PS3 is a solid piece of hardware but you cannot compare it to what Nintendo has done and will do in the future.

First I have a wii so yes i know. Your room must be tiny. I who have an apartment have rooms bigger than 2 square feet. No offense to you but the range is rediculous. Even in a normal sized living room you can't sit on the couch. I think the range is like 2 meters or something.. it's pretty damn bad :\
And you are wrong. It is seen as a spot which is why you can .. for instance in golf.. golf backwards and it'll still get the same result.. Notice you say the american market. What you are forgetting is europe. In europe, prior to the playstation, the market was only a fraction of the american one. The ps1 made consoles mainstream. Atleast in europe. I wasn't referring to your one region but the whole world. So again. YOu are wrong. And regarding the 3d i think you should look into it.. seriously.
and regarding your last thing.. Oh yes i can. Not only that.. i think they've done more. Fairly simple. They've done more and they've done it better.
This is a argument there's no purpose in pursuing because i know i'm right as i have.. actually done my research on all of this.
And yes gaming was always going to go 3d someday. But sony helped give it a real boost so the progression speed up a lot.
