Gonna go see UP now. Made $21m on Friday which is pretty dang good.
Star Trek is the most successful movie of the year - crosses $200m. It'll go past $250m imo but prob. will not get to $300m

I agree that Terminator underperformed. I actually thought it was pretty decent compared to how I heard it would be. I enjoyed it. Way better than Terminator 3. Terminator 4 is a sequel, though I guess it kind of depends on how you define the terms. In the Terminator timeline, I guess it might technically be a prequel.
Up posted some pretty good numbers, better than I expected actually.
If Rob Zombie is doing Halloween 2, it will probably be worth watching. His remake of Halloween was better than every sequel to Halloween ever made.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I'd go even further. It was a masterpeice.
The opening scene may very well be the best scene in any Pixar film.
Simply fantastic.

Agreed. The opening scene brought tears to my eyes. I've been married for 18 years and it just touched me.

The Hangover had an amazing opening day of $16.5m which will give it around $45m for the weekend. That doubles most of the optimistic predictions.
UP had a great hold and has a shot at staying at #1 movie but it'll be a close call.
Land of the Lost will open with around $21m.
Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.
Patiently waiting for: Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2
Transformers 2 will easily make the most money. Star Trek is the most profitable movie this summer, and it's only cracked $200 million. The first Transformers made over $300 in total box office returns. Also add the fact that it is a sequel to a really popular movie, and sequels, especially the second one, make the most money in a trilogy or series. It's also my most anticipated film of the summer, and maybe the whole year.
Most popular ---» Harry Potter
Most anticipated ---» Transformers 2
