Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Avatars vs. Sony Home?

Home has made Millions on end since its release...which is crazy. I just dont see how its possible for Microsoft to compete with Sony in that perspective...thats like saying microsoft will end up selling more 360's than sony sells PS3's in japan.

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

"Welcome to Pain, the second of three...You have dealt the first...now deal with me!!"

What a horrible analogy and your post doesn't even make sense.

Well I like the minigames in home especially with friends. It is still a bit of rubbish but considering Home is more and more improving it can be to be something I will really like in the future. Sony is making money with Home and in the future they will only get more money from it;

Avatars well they are okay. I love to use them in games like Kingdom of a kefling. I wonder what the future will bring us.

Insane money?  Not sure if anyone has a better description for the money spent by people who insist on doing pretend dancing in Home, and buying pretend clothing, so they can impress people they don't know, and win over awe from them.

I personally like to pop in from time to time and waiting in line at the bowling alley to remind me what it is like to get out of the house and be in the real world.

While I still support the concept of Home, I see it has several issues:
1. Home is not integrated into the PS3's environment. You had to load it up. I am not even sure you can meet your friend list on there. The avatars from the 360 and Wii can go elsewhere.
2. Home is a bunch of disjointed environments now that require load time, and updates. There is delays and so on. It isn't streamed the way Second Life is.
3. Sony is emulating all that is wrong with reality. Come on, waiting in line? I guess it is a ploy to get people to buy their own versions of game machines and other minigames, but who has room for a bowling lane at their place?
4. It is stale. Some nice stuff is coming, but it isn't alive the way Second Life is.

I could go on. Will need to wait and see it. As of now, there isn't much to do there. I log on, as I joked above, but also to see if anything new IS happening.

Personally I'm not dying for just a virtual world where you can talk to people and show off bullshit.

I think it would be much more interesting if they created some sort of MMORPG using Avatar characters. There are actually a ton of free WoW clones on the PC. They should create something along those lines.
