@MM476, you can't use Zelda because you are a sinner who hasn't finished all the games in the series in spite of professing great love for them!

To be honest with you Squilly I think it's kind of a strange comment considering you hadn't touched a Mario game until the very recent future!

SSB games all have been lame IMO. I know many like them I just can't get into them I will play a match against people sometimes but I never will buy one again. Its a party fighter nothing more its fun for when 4 friends want to play a match but still its not even close to beign the best fighter that shows how poor fighting genre is if thats the case. SSBB don't hold a candle to games like Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear and yes even Killer Instinct. It should just be called Mario Party w/ Friends Fighter or something. Its fun only at parties nothing more. Single player is boring as hell in the gamecube one and wii one and the fighting is wayyy to basic to even equal to those other fighter series I mentioned. Same goes with Mario Kart its a decent arcade racer but not even in top 10 racing games I can think of a ton that are better the best Mario Kart was MK: Double Dash but thats not even good enough for top 10 even though I loved it. You got to think reasonable on this How in god's name is Mario Kart better than Forza, Gran Turismo, Need for Speed, Midnight Club, Test Drive etc. It just isn't now is Mario Kart  fun and has there been some good ones yes that I will admit but it will never be top racer. It would take a lot to do such a thing and I don't see ti ever happening. Mario Kart Wii is weak they dumbed the series down. They didn't innovate with it at all it was like playing Mario Kart 64 all over again but with better graphics.

I quite honestly have not seen a more pitiful attempt to attack specific franchises. You quite obviously have not even given the SSB games a fair chance, you know nothing of the smash scene. Saying its fun only at parties and nothing more? Lol. You then go on to attack Mario Kart, saying the best iteration was DD!!, complaining that MKWii did not innovate and then going on to say how can it compete with Need for Speed and the like? You are telling people they have to think reasonably? Give me a break.

Um actually I have given it a fair chance and it sux plain and simple. Mario Kart DD is the best Mario Kart game had more strategy and innovation than any of the previous or more recent ones have had. Looking at games like Need for Speed Shift and NFS Most Wanted I will say yes. Dude Mario Kart is racing for kids basically even though it may be fun it is not number one racer and never will be. Saying Super Smash Bros is the best fighting game series or sayign Mario Kart is the best racing game series is quite laughable. BTW SSBB is only good at parties its boring as hell by yourself or even playing coop campaign. I borrowed the game from a buddy of mine after about a month I gave it back. Its built for parties its a 4 player fighter my friend! It is fun at parties but nothing more I would rather watch my grandma play Wii Sports bowling then shoot down every fighting series that is out there that is way more fun and has better componants than that series has. MK nor SSB series are the Best in either of the categories that is all. Only a Nintendo Fanboy would even believe that. I love Nintendo games they are fun but that isn't the discussion here. It's about what series is top of it's class in each genre.

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Against 360 it does already or will soon. I'll break it down.

Racing: Right now 360 leads with Forza and Project Gotham against only GT5 Prologue and Motorstorm. But The full version of Gran Turismo 5 will give PS3 the lead.

Shooting: Right now 360 leads with Gears, L4D, and Halo. But PS3 is catching up with Killzone, Metal Gear Solid and MAG coming soon. 360 will probably win at shooters though unless MAG is a massive hit.

Action/Adventure/Platform: Tough call but I give it to PS3 due to games like Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and LittleBigPlanet. 360 doesn't have a lot to counter these titles.

RPG: 360 is dominating with Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia and Fable. PS3's only exclusive RPG is Valkyrie Chronicles. Final Fantasy vs 13 will help and maybe Mass Effect 2 going multi-plat?

So 360 wins in shooters and RPG's but PS3 is closing the gap in both those categories. And PS3 is leading in Action/Adventure and will lead in racing.

PlatformerPS3/Wii

Racing: 360/PS3

RPG: 360

Action/Adventure:  360/PS3

Puzzle: Wii

Party/Family Games: Wii

Fighting: 360/PS3

This is not fanboyish I looked at full libraries for each and compared.

I say again. PITIFUL attempt to attack specific franchises. SSB "sux plain & simple"? I guess all your fighters must suck real hard since they're rated so much lower.

You haven't given any of the games a fair chance and obviously don't understand them. Exactly when has SSB been all about campaign? I doubt you even played the campaign modes. And i say again you know NOTHING of the Smash scene, saying its "only good for parties". It's built like almost any other fighter, it just has its own style which can allow 3 or 4 players! Don't talk like you know how the game is when you clearly dont.

And lol @ how you'd rather watch your grandma play Wii Sports, great taste. ;)

DD!! is not the best MK game, how on earth did it have "more strategy and innovation"? Someone like you more than likely did not even bother to go in deph with any of the MK games. If you believe 2 people on a Kart was the innovation there is something wrong with you. Granted, the gameplay was vastly different from other MK titles; better? That's debateable, but it's by no means the best.

Did i say SSB was the best fighter around? No. Nor did i say MK was the best racer around, and comparing it to realistic racers is stupid since they're radically different. and if its just for kids what are you doing playing it? Go play your awesomeneedzforspeedzorz!!!!q11211!!! Because thats a game for adults right? Lol, you talk how MK will never be the best racer ever, and then you bring up Need for Speed? My god, at least use a better realistic racer like Burnot. Ever played MKDS? Probably not, although knowing you you'd probably dismiss it as a rubbish game anyway.

If you know what's the best and what's not, then tell me what is the best games for each respective genre's?

Oh, and... stop lying, you don't actually love Nintendo now do you. I find it hard to beleive you've even tried a respectable number of Wii titles

How technical is your game?

The PS3 is ruling only one genre... there is a lot of work to do.

In my opinion:

Shooter = 360

 - Gears of War
 - Halo
 - Shadowrun
 - Left 4 Dead
 - Crackdown

WRPG = 360

 - Mass Effect
 - Fable
 - Fallout + Chapters
 - Too Human

JRPG = 360

 - Star Ocean
 - Lost Odyssey
 - Tales of Vesperia
 - Blue Dragon
 - Infinite Undiscovery
 - The Last Remnant

Aventure = PS3

 - Metal Gear Solid 4
 - Uncharted

Platformer = Wii

 - Super Mario Galaxy

Puzzle&Arcade= 360 (XBLA)

 - Braid
 - Blow
 - Sonic
 - Banjo-Kazooie
 - Chessmaster Live
 - Banjo-Tooie
 - Uno Rush
 - Rez HD
 - Virtual On
 - Outrun
 - So many more...

Hack&Slash = 360

 - Ninja Gaiden 2
 - Ninety Nine Nights
 - Ninja Blade

If you seek exclusive games, there is one console of choice this generation: Xbox 360.
The new PS2.

If by rule you mean have better than the 360 but ignore the Wii, DS and PSP then maybe.

lets see what we have when we don't play silly buggers (in all cases considering games that we know are in development, or already released. Not considering VC, WW, XBLA, PSN)

Action Adventure - All home consoles are on about equal footing. I would give the award to the Wii, but I recognise that that is just my opinion. I just don't see how he titles you mentioned can hold a candle to two Zelda games (1 released 1 unreleased) and 4 Metroid games (3 released 1 unreleased)

platformer isn't as big as it once was? The sales of mario games beg to differ my friend. Wii>DS>>>>>>>>>>>PS360+PSP combined

Racing - this isn't a genre.

Driving simulators - PS3 wins here cos it has GT5 coming soonish
Offroad racers - I'm not really sure, the last time I played this genre was the Dakar game on the 'cube.
Kart racers - Wii>DS>>>>>>>>>>>PS360+PSP combined, due to mario kart

FPS - If you priritise graphics and online gameplay it's
360>PS3>Wii>PSP>DS
If you priritise controls and local gameplay it's
Wii>360>PS3>DSi>PSP

RPG
DS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>PSP=Wii>PS3=360. Although I predict by the end of the gen Wii will be much better than PSP

Fighter
Depends if you like Brawl or not

 It's interesting how tastes varies from one fan to another, lol. But seriously, pushing some of your games on that list, lol, it's hard to believe you truly believe that, lol unless you have some fucked up sense of gaming. Very interesting indeed. Everybody's opinion FTW!!!!

heres my take:

Action/Adventure- PS3 (easily w/ uncharted, ratchet, mgs4, gow3, heavenly sword)

Platformers- PS3 (LBP, plus uncharted/ratchet are pseudo platformers)

Racers- 360/PS3/Wii- 3 way tie (all have great racing franchises- and yes MKWii is a blast)

Shooters- 360 (Halo, GeOW, L4D)

RPG- 360 (JRPGs and WRPGs)

Family- Wii

Sports- Wii (unless you're a graphics whore- wii sports, wii fit, motion + golf/tennis, balance board snowboarding/skateboarding games)

RTS- 360
