Forums - PC - How do i get my PC speakers to work with my PS3?

My PC speaker model is Edifier 1550 5.1 ch. It connects to my PC using three different cables, those being orange, black, and light green. I'm not sure what they're called. Now how do I get to use these speakers with my PS3? It doesn't have any optical, red/white AV, or HDMI slots. Is there a converter that I can buy to bypass this problem?

I'm not sure if the cables are all the same or not, but I was reading on some other sites that these three cables are all the typical "headphone" audio cables. Both A/V (Red and white) cables and the "headphone" jacks are just a positive and negative wire. (Stereo "headphone" jacks have three wires. Negative, positive left, and positive right.) Since they can be cut and replaced, there should be some kind of converter to allow the A/V PS3 cables to connect to the green cable for stereo sound. I will continue to search, but unless someone has made a true converter, you may only be able to get stereo sound with it.

I have moved and do not have the internet at home, yet.

well any update would be absolutely wonderful. even stereo sound would be a blessing.

For stereo you can plug it in the headphone jack, but unfortunately you'd lose your TV speakers and just get 2.0 stereo.

Its probably best to get a component sound/computer plug converter and plug them in that way. Seriously its only $5-10 in total which it should cost.

Tease.

wait wait,

what do you mean? bear with me please, i'm the resident tech idiot around here..

Is your computer also next to your PS3

if so buy an adapter.   RCA to 3.5mm like this one    http://www.impactacoustics.com/product.asp?cat_id=109&sku=40645

Plug it into your LINE IN on your computer   (make sure mute is off)

yeah why?

These take the outputs of your PS3s component out so you can plug them into your PC speakers.
