I never dreamed of the series to be a failure. Although I loved the first game and beat it, I bought the second and probably got half way through. I lost interest because I liked the original's game style. I never got the 3rd but I plan to get it eventually. I guess you can consider it "failed' because it didn't meet the hype. But they were still good games.
