Forums - Sony - Jak and Daxter = Failure

Jak and Daxter games a failure? Really? Do you believe that?

There were awesome games. They sold loads. They made big profits. What more do people need?

They made SMALL profits. Don't forget how much marketing and advertising went into those games.

And when one of your BEST DEVELOPERS is just making small profits, it's a failure.

And when that development team goes from selling 7+ million copies of one franchise, to selling only 1.7 million copies of the new franchise...YES, IT IS A FAILURE.

If Sony and Naughty Dog had any faith in the Jak series, don't you think we would've seen Jak 4, instead of Uncharted? They obviously dropped it for a reason.

First its undertracked, second they are coming out with a psp game for it, and after uncharted 2 naughtydog will focus on J & D.

I've heard that on the forums a couple times now...

Source?

BTW-Naughty Dog isn't even developing the PSP game.

Do you have any proof of that at all? From what I remember at the time, the games were widely held to be enormously successful and profitable. I'll happily accept your claims if you have an proof of them.

Perhaps not "small" profits...but rather Smaller profits than they expected when creating the series.

Common sense my man. If they were such an enormous success, Jak 4 wouldve come out in 2007 (when Uncharted did), and you'd be seeing Jak 5 at E3 this year.

You have any proof that they sold bad, or made little profit or that a new jak game isint in the works.

Also, why didnt suckerpunch make a new slycooper game for ps3 instead of making infamous, because they are trying to expand the amount of gaming series they have, just like Kojima, they want to make more games, not just MGS games.

The proof is in the Link that was provided in the opening post.

Proof that a game isnt in the works? Why would I need to prove that? Naughty Dog is currently working on Uncharted 2, and the only mumbles of a Jak game have come because of a PSP game.

Because the Sly Cooper games did not SELL much either.

The first one barely cracked 1 million, and to my knowledge, both sequels failed to reach even 1 million.

inFAMOUS has potential to sell 3x the amount of the best selling Sly game.
