I think the folks at SCEA would be very thrilled with this. That's the ideal situation on releases. Who knows if it will happen that way though

After that... what else is there? MAG - dunno how it will sell Heavy Rain - lacks mass appeal. I'll be surprised if it even sells 1 million Ratchet and Clank - The 3rd RC being released on Ps3 already. Not exactly a system seller.
A big gun like GoW or GT is needed to drive holiday sales and ensure victory. |

WHO CARES ABOUT JAN-MAR?????
Systems sell in November/December. Look throughout the last 10 years of gaming...check hardware sales. There are HUGE spikes around Nov/Dec. That's when companies want their biggest and best games coming out.
Jan-March is when everybody is broke after Xmas and isn't even buying games.

Sony might? I mean think about it, god of war is only big in the usa and ms is releasing Forza and Halo this year, so Sony would "lose" in the killer exclusives app whether gow3 shows up or not, followed by possibly Splinter Cell (might be 2009) and Mass Effect 2 by March, with a high possibility of Lost Planet 2 (if only timed) in the traditional Capcom early year release.
That's a sandwich my friend and things between a sandwhich tend to get eaten, sony can blow it's ...ahem..."big" gun or it's going to be a looooooong....wait between "big" games until gran turismo 5.

They basically did the same thing with Killzone 2, the PS3 lineup for the first 6 months of 2009 is very ho-hum, MLB 09, Killzone 2, Infamous, think of how completely mind-numbingly dull it would be without KZ2.
That's what their 2010 would be if god of war 3 came out this year.
