I believe that not all games fit the designation of casual game. I will start by listing some games that I believe do fit this designation. What are some games that you all consider casual? We can take it from there and define what exactly makes a game casual for the people who insist that there is no distinction.

Gamers are either casual or core. As an example, many casual gamers play Wii Fit, maybe spend 20 minutes on it in a day.

However, my friends and I compete for high scores on the mini-games, and have spent up to 4 hours between us on Wii Fit without pause. This is not casual gaming

Actually I've gained weight :) I actually hit the normal weight category one day. Then dropped back just under into the underweight the next. Should test myself today.

Japanese literature/culture/film classes are casual.
Japanese language classes are the most hardcore classes I've ever taken.

No, we're not talking about classes, we're talking about games. My (foreign language) Coach is what I consider a casual game. What games does anyone else think qualify as casual?

Maybe My Spanish Coach is casual, but I don't see how My Japanese Coach would be casual at all. You don't just casually study a set of 2000 characters that represent ideas, and have multiple pronunciations each.
