It looks like a new Tony Hawk game will be announced soon because GTTV's host, Geoff Keighley, tweeted the following today:

Only if it's as good as the old ones. Last good one I played was Underground. And THPS4 wasn't good before it. American Wasteland wasn't that bad but only because of the constant glitching I did online haha.
