People should get banned for making threads that pretend like Blu-Ray is doing good.

LMAO!

Like a shoot the messenger type deal?

Come on now let's be serious!  :)

Ok, fine, let's be serious.

Blu-Ray is doing amazing and I can't believe there are still naysayers. I still have people claiming that upscaled DVD's look just as good as Blu Ray. I laugh at those people. Of course BD it's not going to take off as fast as DVD. With DVD, we switched from tapes to cd's. This is a different kindof change. We are also in the midst of a global recession (which is why BD's numbers are actually quite impressive).

It's not very suprising when you find out that hte people who talk against Blu Ray today are the same people who backed HD-DVD. That failed so they jumped ship to "digital media". The condradiction with that is extremely evident.

I think many people are just exasperated by the blinkered view of the PRO BLu Ray camp

I for one agree that it is here to stay. I just dont think it will take over from DVD for many many years (3 more at least)

The most exasperating thing is when people say that HD movies cannot be delivered any other way.

Well I've got a Virgin Media box which streams on Demand movies over a 4 MB internet connection in HD and which works flawlessly.

Blu Ray is fine but stating that the opposition cannot and doesnt exist when it clearly does is borderline delusion.
