It's not bad.  Everyone gets their own specials, you upgrade equipment and stuff by catching souls in the gauntlet and collecting matierals.

The biggest problem is that the difficulty curve spikes.  You can cruise through most the game without even training.... then things get tough towards the end.

There is a dungeon to level up in but it can get tedious.

I enjoyed Onimushu games more than the Devil May Cry series. All of the Onimushu games were fun while Devil May Cry 2 and 4 were just OK.

Dante's hotness alone puts DMC over Onimusha.

Onimusha 1-4 were awesome. Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is my favorite.
