GoW3 has potential to be a true killer app. A system seller. It's one of the most anticipated games. And it's a unique game in the sense that you can't find anything too similar on the other systems.

The first 2 God of War games were rated very highly and critically acclaimed. I expect GoW3 will be no different. The first GoW sold over 3 million on the heavily pirated Ps2, with competition from a ton of other games. GoW2 was released on Ps2 well after this generation started and many ppl stopped playing their Ps2s.

Now GoW3 will be Sonys most important title (along with GT5). I expect a ton of advertising and marketing. The first GoW to appear on the Ps3 with a lot of hype and anticipation. This time around, it will be on the Ps3, which doesn't have any pirating, and not as many other games to compete with for sales. It's also going to show off the true power of the Ps3 as it will dwarf the Ps2 games in terms of enemies on the screen and scale of the environment.

I'm in my early-mid-20's and alot of ppl I talk to have said they are going to buy a Ps3 when God of War III comes out. Most of them are casual gamers btw.

My prediction - GoW3 surpasses it's first two games, and sells 4.5+million within a year of being released. I think God of War is just as popular as Metal Gear Solid. If LittleBigPlanet can sell over 2million+ I see GoW3 selling like hot cakes.

maybe 2.5 million...and thats a little optimistic, remember everyone, this IS the PS3 we are talking about, not the PS2

LOL@only 2.5 million. Are you kidding me? Little Big Planet has already sold close to that amount, and has only been released for about 6 months! God of War has much more hype and anticipation, as well already having a fanbase from last-gen.
