They aren't. Final Fantasy XII is.

Most people seem to like FFV, but not a lot of people talk about it. Considering it wasn't released on the SNES in the US, it's not surprising.

Yeah. 5 is pretty good. It's gameplay is a lot of fun. Though the story took a step back from 4.

My first RPG was Super Mario RPG, and it's not my favorite anymore. First shooter was Wolfenstein 3D, first platformer was Sonic, first racer was Excite Bike, first sports game was... Ski Free? Point being, while I still love these games, none of them is my favorite in their respective genres. Ski Free did, however; instill me with a burning hatred of yetis, so I suppose that's something.
CIHYFS?
My first FF was FF7. I don't think it's the best though. For me the list goes FF8>FF10>FF7>FF6>FF12>FF9.
My first was Final Fantasy VII and it's my worst Final Fantasy game so far (I've only played I, II, III, IV and VII).

Why would you skip VI?!
First was VII but X is the best

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
