My vote goes for The Descendents, Minor Threat and The Ramones.

virginia's very own.
more metal then punk but the works of converge (mainly across 'jane doe' and 'you fail me').
straight up fun punk:
lifetime, world/inferno friendship society
pop punk:
green day (kerplunk-insomniac), alkaline trio (goddamnit, self titled)
Hmm, I'd have to say Bad Religion.
If you include punk's sub-genres, like ska-punk, then Streetlight Manifesto by a very, very long shot.
The best are as follows
1. The Clash
2. The Ramones
3. The Dead Kennedys
4. The Sex Pistols
since I dotn listen to much punk Ill go with what I know
Rise Against and Billy Talent

Well, I think that with MFZB, BttW (others that I liked less like PmotY), and Especially Pheonix, they've branched out into more of a punk-rock/alternative sound, whereas in TheYellow, and other early works were more rapcore...
Also, lol:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebrahead
Wikipedia has them listed as both, and even (to my dismay), pop-punk...
MotherFuckingZebreaheadBitch!
Seriously, a couple of awesome ZH songs:
Freakin sweet...
