One of my favorite Bad Religion songs!

The Clash are the greatest punk band in my opinion.

Personally I'm quite a fan of the mainstream big three, The Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols and in that order.

Definitely Green Day for me. Although their latest album, American Idiot, drifited away from their punk roots (although still having a few punk songs on the ablum) their earlier stuff was just great. Also I'd put the Clash, Ramones, Blink 182, and Dead Kennedys as well. Long live punk guys haha. I don't care what kind of punk you like as long as punk is here right.

Honorable mention:

The Monks.

(American ex-pats who stayed in Germany after WWII.)

This is from 1965.

Other than their ultimate epic awesomeness, I'm gonna go with The Stooges, and for pop-punk I gotta give it up to the Buzzcocks for their early 4 albums from 1978 to 1979 (those are probably my favorite 4 pop-punk albums ever), but not really anything since their 1993 comeback.
