You're saying that certainly because you weren't playing back in the day. I agree on your MGS comments, it was indeed a underground game that time, but FF was very well known for the gamers. FFII and FFIII for the SNES were acclaimed and had sold considerably, not on FFVII level, but it wasn'n unpopular.

 

 Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 : Snake's Revenge were not underground games. But I agree the franchise was not as popular as the MGS franchise.

I also forget to mention another famous game publisher who was introduced thanks to the NES :

Sony Imagesoft, now known as Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE)

well you say that NES is the best console as it were a fact well .... it isn't

there is no such thing as best game ever, best movie ever, best book ever ... etc it's all a matter of personal preference and thank god for that. so please keep your opinions as opinions don't force them on me as if it were a fact because it not

I owned a NES it was my first console from Nintendo(and last) and my first console ever and I loved it especially games like Contra and TMNT where you can play Co-op with friends but I think that PS2,PS1 and the SNES are better in my opinion

 I think he is refferring to best as in did the most for the hobby/industry. Moved things along revitalized altered or influenced. It si more fact based then favorites. For instance I loved the DC but was a groundbreaking system that changed the industry afire no it didn't so even if I felt it had the best games and would be my favorite console it definitely is not the best console.

 Well I don't force this on you and you are right, you could prefer other console over the NES as a matter of personal preferences. But if we can make top 100 of best games ever or top 10 of best consoles ever, I suppose we can suggest that there is indeed a console who can bear the title of ''Best console ever''.

Now if you think this title should be given to the SNES, PS1 or PS2, just give us some reasons and people will choose which one is better. Democracy is working this way...

I don't think you read my post clearly. I don't believe in the Best 100, 10, 5 ... etc BS because it's all subject to opinion anyway.

When I said PS,PS2 and SNES it was MY OPINION and I have my reasons they are not universal and for sure they are not facts ether for all I care I could say I like the PS2 because it's black !!!

Now as I said there is no denying that NES was great it had good games and it was fun to play for every body, but I still don't believe that it's the best ever because like I said it comes down to personal opinions and the closest way to find out the most preferred console is sales but I even think that's a wrong way to measure quality
