Forums - Gaming - For all you people saying that MadWorld would sell better on PS3/360...

Games like Killer7, No More Heroes, and MadWorld are the video game equlivalent of movies like Reservoir Dogs and Kalifornia ... While these movies have a cult following because of how unique the movies were for their time, and they were a major reason why Brad Pitt and Quentin Tarantino became as well known and respected as they are, they were not a mass market product and their box-office demonstrated that (neither made more than $3 Million at theaters).

There's been little proof of original IP doing well on HD systems. Madworld wouldve done just as poorly on the HD systems. HD gaming fans are set in their ways and would have shunned it regardless.

Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Mass Effect, LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War, Uncharted, Resistance, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Motorstorm, Saints Row, Viva Pinata, Left 4 Dead, Rock Band, Crackdown, Army of Two and Heavenly Sword not proof enough for ya?

How much of that is the XBox 360's "Amazing" ability to sell original IPs and how much of that is related to these games being highly rated very mainstream games with marketing budgets larger than the total budgets of No More Heroes, Okami and MadWorld combined?

Its a given Killzone 2 would have sold better on the 360, you don't need proof.

However MGS4 and the rest would be uncertain.

Well it couldn't sell worse.

The PS2 version of Killer 7 says hello.

killer 7 was a crap port of a great gc game.  GC didnt sell well because its too unique.

I agree with the OP, there is no point arguing that certain game would've sold better on a different console, this cannot be proven, people should just chill.

And if anything just like Killzone 2 couldnt be made for the wii because of the graphics, Madwolrd couldnt be made on PS3 because of , well certain controll limitations.

What does that have to do with anything?

i agree that Killzone 2 would sell better on the 360 but MGS4 would sell better on PS3 because every bought it for MGS4

MadWorld wouldnt have sold better on the HD systems, its too far of a change graphically, and its not a sequel. There's been little proof of original IP doing well on HD systems. You failed to mention the lack of success has much to do with leaving Mario out. They should have got rid of the blood... maybe have rainbows and flowers fly out instead. I'm also hearing there isn't minigames.

Funny that you call madworld a lack of success, when its already proven profitable, thus the definition of a success to a business.

btw, no one, and I mean no one on this site is going to take you seriously until you fill out info like age, location etc. Im assuming you're an angsty 16 year old otherwise, and not worth the time to take you seriously
