Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust follows the adventures of Larry Lovage the nephew of Larry Laffer (the original Larry). Larry takes a summer job working in his uncle porn studio. Larry has been told by his uncle that there is a mole leaking info to a rival porn studio. Your job is to find the mole. However, you must do a bunch of odd jobs before you find the mole.
The graphics of this game are cartoonish if you played Magna Cum Laude you know what I mean. The character models look funny as they are supposed to. They are a lot grapical nusences that are alarming such as horrible screen ripping, charcaters glowing when they shouldn't. An upgrade over Magna Cum Laude but not by much.
The controls in this game are absolutly horrid. When I say horrid I mean horrid. You try to double jump a wall and you will not double jump, end up sutck to a wall and in some cases fall to your death (that's right Larry can die). They are so many useless missions that involve wall jumps its becomes extremely repetitive.
On to the missions. The missions in this are boring especially when compared to its predecessor. One mission has you chasing down pages of a script that you blew away when you turned on a fan. The most annoying part of the mission is where the pages end up. Another mission has you dress up as a cowboy and fight, what should be a 1, 2, 3 mission turns in to a nightmare as punches are delayed by the horrid controls.
There are some cool mini games such as directing which is my favorite one. The director is voiced by Tom Arnold. That is the only thing that keeps this game interesting, the voice acting is excellent. Actors that do voice overs are Patrick Warburton (Sienfeld, The Tick, Venture Bros.), Carmen Electra, Artie Lange, Dave Attel, Nikki Cox, Jay Mohr, and Jeffery Tambor as the voice of Larry Laffer.
The problem is as good as the voice acting is the game is so bad that after a while you don't care what any of the characters have to say.
My rating: 1/10 - avoid at all cost. I'm a LSL fan an still have to say this game sucks.
