Actually this time of the year they had more games than last year, Halo Wars, Star Ocean, DLC's, Ninja Blade.
But the end of the year looks sad.
But war... war never changes

But u no very well that God of War 3 won't come in 2009. They always release in March. So God of War3 will be in March 2010. And GT5 is not 2009 in the West. In Japan perhaps, but not in US/Europe.
I think Infamous will struggle to sell more than 800,000 and Heavy Rain will do just slightly over 1 mill.

Fair enough (Given the types of games they are). Then again, Alan Wake might suffer the same fate as Heavy Rain/Infamous as a new IP. Gran Turismo 5 almost assuredly will sell about double of Forza 3. God of War 3 will probably sit around the 2 - 4 million range. Uncharted 2 will sell above 2 million I would imagine.
If every hyped PS3 game does over a Milli and Xbox doesnt have much to release come E3 then we can talk about epic defeats and fails!
PS: Quality wise PS3 destroyed the 360 in 08, X360 only had Gears, Fable and L4D compared to LBP,MGS4,R2,VC
sales is a different story since a price drop helped.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Now all we know about for sure in 2009 is Halo ODST. So it would be nice if MS actually announced something soon. Anything they reveal at E3 for the first time won't release in the same year unless it's another Lips or Scene It game. |
This is what I find quite strange as well. Everyone keeps on saying that Microsoft will announce a bunch of a new stuff at E3 (me one of them, truth be told), but then, what exactly did they announce at E3 2008 that also released in 2008? All their big exclusives last year were already known about prior to E3.
I can't help wondering - is it actually possible that Microsoft will go into the Holiday season this year with nothing but an expansion pack? 0_0

Part of me believes....Quite simply..yes.
Microsoft dropped the price of their system to $200. I mean I have to believe to some extent they feel or felt like they could get by with a price tag significantly cheaper then their competition. So far it appears to be working. Although if the recent trend of comparable PS3 sales continues and MS doesn't have some serious E3 surprises....It could become an interesting year.

At last years E3, Lips and You're In The Movies were the only games Microsoft announced and released later that year. Everyone always says Microsoft never reveal their major games way in advance, but they have done, plenty of times. Still, I don't think ODST will be their only big title for the holiday season, they will also have Forza 3 and probably another Rare game.

If Sony manages a significant price cut ($100), then it will likely boost patlst 360 sales. If not, then they will likely sell at an even pace. Kz2 appears to be very popular, yet it hasn't pushed ps3 sales to a magical level.

seriously I dont even consider xbox360 to be in this generation race I believe it is only between wii and ps3 but lets face it lol there is no way the ps3 could win. the xbox360 is basically a overpriced wii minus motion control and I was reading that it can play hd-dvd but hd-dvd lost the war so why dont they remove it on new console maybe save some $$$?
I forget how xbox did last generation but didnt they only sell like 10 million console? gamecube sold like 5x that.

prediction: wii to sell 150million console by end of 2010
Whenever I see this:
PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E
In someone's signature, I almost unconciously disregard most of what they say. And don't know about anyone else here, but when I see that I almost can never take that person seriously. Don't know why, its weird.
As for OT: Well, the PS3 has a great lineup this year, so in the games department the 360 is lacking for this year. But the idea that they don't have a big exclusive this year doesn't sound like Microsoft at all, and if Alan Wake and SPC release, I can see more then a 'splash' being made.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
