i dont like the first 7 dq games because of the first person view i just dont like that in rpgs i liek to see my characters while they fight,i played dq8 and is very good id give it a 8.5

well i only played dragon quest 8 and i liked it very much but i became iritated of the random encounters (i don't have a lot of patience) but everything was really good i love the humor and character design but it wasn't really a game for me however i'm really excited for DQ 9 and 10 ^^

Yeah random encounters can ruin even the best RPG, but luckily nine has bucked tradition and ditched them entirely, which should result in something resembling a mass extinction for them in the years to come.

I have only played the 4th on a NES and I thought it was a great game, yet a bit too hard...never finished it. But the music and story was great!
