Forums - General - Scenario: God gives you $750.000 for no reason! How would you spend it?

I'm a bit conservative when it comes to money, so I would probably have tried to secure my future.
Here's what I would do.

First off I'd buy a new home for $500.000. Then I would buy a fuel efficient car for no more than $25.000. I would give $25.000 to the poor people in Africa. I would really expand my gaming collection spending at least $5000.

$45.000 would go to the travel budget so that my girlfriend and I could do some serious travelling. I would buy a cool timeshare apartment somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea spending $50.000. And a boat for $60.000.
I would deposit $40.000 in the bank for added financial security.

How would you spend your $750.000? :/

A nice house, big tv, all 3 consoles, lots of games, best pc available and if there's cash left I'd put it in the bank.

I would dump $700,000 into savings.

I would pay off my college debt (only $9,000 or $10,000).

I would spend as much as I needed to on an amazing video camera, audio recording equipment, video and audio editing hardware and software, and 2 really amazing computers (one for video and audio editing and one for everything else).

I'd buy a nicer bed and some new speakers, and a dehydrator for my wife.

The hefty chunk leftover would be for partying and traveling I guess.

So, God gives you $750k and you spend it all on yourself?
That sounds like an easy way to end up in hell.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

You're right.  If G-d appeared, spoke to me, and performed a miracle to prove he was G-d, and proved specifically which G-d he was and which afterlifes he had waiting for me, I would spend every single cent on atheist charities and promoting a secular humanist society, and fighting the religious right in America.  And if he had a problem with that, I'd call him an Indian giver.

If he wanted the money spent in another way, he should've picked somebody else, eh?  Ooooh, his hypothetical bad!

If god gave me that money, I'm pretty sure he already likes me.

EDIT: Forgot to put what I'd actually spend it on. To quote George Best:

"I spent most of my money on alcohol, women and drugs. The rest I squandered."

I'd pay to have myself kryogenically frozen and be brought back in the year 2300 when theres world peace and no more money since people share everything. Like communism, except it actually works!

I just thought it funny that such a carring liberal as yourself would not have donated anything to the poor.

Aw shit, this hypothetical money falling out of the sky thread has proved that liberalism is a hoax!  You caught us again!

Good eye on keeping us liberal phonies on our toes in every single thread here.  We might actually discuss something that isn't liberalism.  Can't let that happen.

I would spend all the money on developing a giant machine that turns rich people into sandwiches and blankets.

I'd put most of it in savings, I don't really NEED that much stuff really. I'm happy with what I already have.
