It's "the Wii can't sell CORE NEW IP third party games".

Anyway, I think that most of the JRPGs coming out on the 360 are misplaced. Star Ocean, for example, would've sold much more on the PS3.

indeed, whats really sad is that LBP has outsold a square enix game in japan...

as of today LBP has sold more than Lost odyssey, INfinite Undiscovery and tracking just 30K below ToV and last remnant....

Wii can sell anything.

dead rising 1 on the ps3 rather than the wii

Did anyone mention Halo Wars on PC (provided they didn't dumb it down as much as they did for 360).

Not really. It's likely it would have still been remixed as CTYD. That would mean fewer zombies at the beginning, for one. Gamers would see the screen and jump to the same false conclusions of "cheap, lazy port". And if even one texture was out of place, the same thing. Remember what happened with Lost Planet?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

"Flavor of the month games" are not good enough proof that the Wii can sell 3rd party games.

Claiming a basis we are not using is not disproving 3rd party games sell. We're using official NPD data.

MGS4 on the 360.

Not even close.

Those JRPG's however, they would've sold much better on PS3 or Wii.

edit:

Killzone 2 on 360. Despite all of the 360 fans saying that the game sucks and is overhyped, I'm pretty sure that they would've loved to get this game for 360. In fact, it would've sold millions by now.

I love the effort of the thread but once again we are dealing with a mass of people who's main goal are their own interests rather than what's right or logical. I mean there are some moments we can well such and such should have been on another console but it is still assumption. Even though I will say that every now and then, I see it mostly as worthless banter of the many to assure themselves of personal righteousness. But that's it. They aren't right and never will be right. As you said it released on such and such console and that was the choice. We'll know if it REALLY was the right choice when the developer comes out and says how it did.

But unfortunately we'll still get these kinds of things throughout the threads and other forums too because that's just how people are. They pick and choose little things to further a self-interested point to assert themselves at a dominant position. It's disturbing for the most part but it is what happens. Media sites do it as well such as where they nitpick one game for something and don't in others. Or review two games that are virtually the same differently. And same when we have comparisons of where games have gone or how they sold compared to how they would do it to others. But I like the effort of the thread to point it out. Good job.

Z&W would have sell better if Capcom would have advertise it more.
