JRPG would have sold better on ps3 like SO4, LO, TLR

Shooters would have sold better on 360 KZ2, R2 even HAZE!!!!! LOL

LBP would have sold better on Wii.

Yes, because the Wii has proved itself as a strong pusher of new & innovative IPs. Zak & Wiki says hi.

Oh, and the Wii's online platform isn't sophisticated enough for the sharing and playing of community levels.

So, no. It would have bombed on Wii.

You fail at joke detection.

Don't care; applies to any fool who posts the same thing in this thread and believes it.

If Nintendo would have made LBP then it would have sold better then on the ps3. Trust me... What's wrong with wii's online except the friend codes? Mario kart wii online never lags for me or disconnects me...

The worst selling game Nintendo made for the wii is what? Metroid prime3? Think so.

Prophecy's post wasn't a joke. All of his points were correct except for LittleBigPlanet, which is debatable. And Nintendo's lowest selling Wii game is the Metroid Prime port, which sold a healthy 10k copies. You were close though!

Not sure it's really anymore debatable then the others.

I mean games don't have to use friendcodes.

The only real issue would of been how much did Sony's massive marketing push help the game sell vs it selling on it's own merits... and would it have had an equal amount of marketing push on the wii.

If so... it's hard to argue it wouldn't of sold better on the wii... following the simple "This kindof game sells on this platform better."

I don't count remakes and that game is only released in Japan. You know Japan? Biggest country in the world, 10 times te size of North America.

Ps: Fps and Japan is a bad mix.

Maybe you shouldn't pull qualifications out of nowhere, and maybe you should list them beforehand. I'm going to assume the thing about Japan being the biggest country in the world and being 10 times the size of North America is a joke. The lowest selling game from Nintendo, on the Wii, that has been released in 2 or more regions is Disaster: Day of Crisis, with healthy sales of 40k. It may not have PAL data, but the game didn't even manage to chart there so it doesn't matter much.

Killzone 2 would have sold more on 360.

Chrono Trigger would have sold more on Playstation Network.

Wii Fit would have sold better on the PS3.

The World Ends with You would have sold better on PSP.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World would have sold better on PS2.

Braid would have sold better on Wiiware.

World of Goo would have sold better on Xbox Live Arcade.

Lips would have sold better on Wii.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I wasn't debating over whether the Wii's online could handle LBP or not, but rather if the game would sell better on the platform. Like I said, it's debatable. If LBP was developed by Nintendo and had the same marketing push, it would have sold much better than it did on the PS3.

Well, I don't care for remakes. Nintendo shouldn't waste their time with them. Ofcourse a remake won't sell as good as the original. Disaster: day of crisis had no marketing what so ever and it didn't even came to North America. That's a BIG market. The game costs €60 here in Belgium. Nty

I'll rephrase what I said... If Nintendo made a lot of ads and other stuff like that for LBP and gave it a WW release then it would have sold better on the wii.

Ps: Metroid prime remake still needs to come to everywhere else except Japan. Most people don't even know Metroid prime in Japan... I don't even know why Nintendo releases it in Japan first and doesn't even give a release date for Europe and NA...

Why would it have to be developed by Nintendo?

I mean Media Molecule isn't part of sony.

Regardless... it isn't any more debatle then any of the other games.

I mean what if those 360 JRPGs were worse quality on the PS3... due due to not knowing the platform well and only willing to spend as much etc...

If you accept that a similarly pushed LBP would of sold better on the Wii, it's no more debatble then the others where you go with a similar "all things equal" approach.

Games tend to sell better if Nintendo is the developer or publisher.

Ps: We're sure of one thing... Wii fit and mario kar wii wouldn"t have sold better on the ps3 lol. That would mean that more then 70% of the ps3 owners would have bought mario kart wii.

My mistake, I meant to say that the game would be heavily published by Nintendo/marketed as a Nintendo game. I don't see the relevance in your RPG point whatsoever. As for LBP being on the Wii, it has to do with the brandname of the company. I was debating the qualifications. Nintendo has such a stronger brandname than Sony, especially when it comes to platformers, that under their publishing it probably would have sold better on the Wii. But, for example, if the game was developed for both platforms by third parties, it's debatable. The Wii has an advantage in the platformer genre, but the game's great graphics on the PS3 (along with PSN), might give it an advantage there. I didn't say it was certain, just more debatable. Haze or Killzone 2 would have certainly sold better on the 360, and many of the RPGs for the 360 would have benefited from the PS3's userbase since they didn't do very well in America and would have sold better in Japan on the PS3. There are some exceptions, such as Lost Odyssey and The Last Remnant, but these games were painted as Final Fantasy type RPGs and as such had stronger western sales. Not that there's any indication that these RPGs wouldn't have done fine in the west on the PS3 either.

Here is the basic problem with that arguement.

Games aren't like toasters to where anyone can buy any one they want.

Graphics really only matter within it's own console and among multi-console owners.

A wii owner isn't going to say "I'm not going to buy this game because it has Wii level graphics instead of PS3 level" because they own a Wii... and they expect Wii level graphics.

A PS3, Wii owner may care that the graphics aren't as good looking... but again.  If only released on the Wii... I don't see how it would be an issue considering he obviously bought a wii for a reason and doesn't have a problem with Wii level graphics.

All things equal would mean it would look about as good on the Wii as LBP does in comparison to the average PS3 game.

As for the PSN.  LBP on the PSN doesn't offer anything different that couldn't be offered on the Wii.  They would just have to buck with the established freinds code and go with their own server like EA does.
