Forums - Sony - Just got tuition reimbursement for $1917.50...

So I'm planning on finally getting an HDTV (40 inch Sony Bravia) and a 160gb PS3 and I was wondering if a 40 inch is too big for my place. I live in a pretty small place and my viewing distance will roughly be between 10-15 feet. Somebody that lives in a smaller apartment and has any experience let me know.

I have a 50" 1080p plasma from about 5 feet away and it still looks great (it's got a great upscaler too so even most of my Wii games look awesome on it).

Bigger is better! If you have the money, spend it!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

40" Sony Bravia, and like DKII I sit 5 feet away.
Love it! ^_^
It's just that Valkyria Chronicles has crazzzy jaggies.
So does SSBB.

A TV can be too big? News to me.

I sit about 10 ft away from my 65", and about 5 ft away from my 37".

a buddy of mine has a custom built 100 inch tv built into his wall. yes :$ i drool over it

I sit about 6" from my gf's 42 inch 1080p LCD and love it. Being 10+ feet away isn't near as good IMO. But then again I have not perfect eyesight and can't focus at those distances lol. Bigger is better though, just ask any girl ;)

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

Awesome, thanks for all the help guys. So the tv should run me like a grand, and the ps3 roughly $550 w/ taxes. That leaves about $300 for games. Valkyria Chronicles is a given, as well as Sonic Unleashed (even though people seem to knock it, I'm a pretty big Sega fan). I'm hoping to find a bundle with a pretty good game (like Uncharted). Any other good recommendations.
