for me it was when all of that " I drink Crystal and drive a bently" BS started coming out, that really killed the genre for me. that stuff is basically the 90's "hairbands" of the rap genre. I may not be a connoisseur of rap music, but I know talentless crap when I hear it, and thats whats on MTV all the time.

I still like some rap acts like M.I.A, Jurassic five, and other rappers that don't get radio play at all.....I guess I'll still to my darkwave and metal
