Despite the fact that I think it's not that big a deal, it was a bombshell.  Because it was something completely unexpected.  A new game announced?  Ok, expected.  A new franchise announced?  Cool, maybe not expected, but nothing out of the ordinary.  A game from an established franchise announced for your competitors platform that has previously been touted as exclusive, releasing same day in the two biggest gaming territories (despite sales of FF being stronger in Japan) on your console?  A definite bombshell.

But I can see why some people don't really care.  Like most reasonable PS3 owners.

 

 it was a bombshell to the fanboys, EVERYONE was shocked, but now, if you look at it. i dont see a huge deal out of it. The game wasnt like going to give ps3 an extra 1 or 2 million hardware sales. maybe in japan but definately not in the west.

MS has to lift the lid on what MGS is working on, its time. Peter Jackson, Ryan Payton cant be just sitting around doing nothing. Even Kojima said he might announce something. Hmm.

And lol at those downplaying FF13 news. Need I remind you that most gaming websites actually went down with the massive spike in web traffic when that happened. It practically delayed alot of PS3 purchases for years (or even for good) for a lot of 360 owners, including myself personally.

Microsoft won't go a single year without announcing anything but 2 Halo installments and some DLC, if you think so, you are just kidding yourself



Possible announcements:::
---------------------------------------
1) MGS5 on Xbox 360 (If you say it wont happen, you are just in denial of the POSSIBILITY)

2) RARE announces Perfect Dark 2, Viva Pinata 3, Battletoads 2, Blast Corps 2, and/or Killer Instinct 3 (RARE has a lot of AAA franchises under it's belt that could possibly be shown).

3) NEW Lionhead game and more FABLE 2 DLC

4) Peter Jackson's "Halo Chronicles"

5) CoD MW2 gameplay, Halo 3 ODST gameplay

6) Xbox LIVE Primetime and maybe something cool like a Virtual Chat Room for Avatars

7) Motion Controller (very unlikely, but very possible)



Don't discredit Microsoft until E3 2009 is OFFICIALLY OVER.


I hope Microsoft has an amazing E309 press conference and Major Nelson said Microsoft's E3 2009 booth is going to be HUGE, and Microsoft is going to involved the community (somehow) with E3 2009. Be afraid Sony fanboys, be very afraid lmfao



PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

nothing on that list seems scary enough for Sony fanboys LOL unless a big multiplat game goes 360 exclusive...

I just don't care about annoucements of games that won't come out in 1 or 2 years. I want to see first and foremost 2009 games at E3, some very big EARLY 2010 at the latest. If say, they go and announce MGS5 is multiplat for example, what am I going to do with that? yell yay! and dance? for a game that would probably see the light in 3 years? or : yay! the first teaser of Halo 4!! coming SOON....for X-mas 2010!.... no way, If they're going to drop the bombs, I want them DATED 2009, early 2010, no more no less.
