I thought the final battle in PD was good. But the showdown against Trevelyan was much better in Goldeneye, on balance. Goldeneye gets added repect for being a Licensed game; usually that entails the game is abysmal. Rare certainly bucked that trend.

The train scenario also springs to mind as particularly memorable. I liked how you could get more time to escape depending on whom you shot.

Was there another game BEFORE Goldeneye that added additional mission objectives in such a perfect way, when playing on higher difficulty?
I think the great things about GE were the similarities to the GE movie and on the other hand the additional stuff that wasn´t in the movie.

But overall Perfect Dark is way better. The single player game was awesome, including the AAA coop and counter-coop and in the multiplayer the sims, fantastic customizing options. The firearms with there stunning secondary firemodes were also awesome.

Maybe GE did more for the console FPS genre and was a greater milestone in the first place, but PD made it perfect.

Perfect Dark was essentially Goldeneye 2. So technically, PD was better then Goldeneye. But Goldeneye was like Halo CE to Halo 2; more original, but not as good, and carries the nostalgic value.

GoldenEye. It just seemed better when I played it, I got on with it better. GoldenEye also had a better atmosphere, certainly if your a Bond fan then it was and still is the definitive Bond game.

Goldeneye hands down...I played both and I did not like Perfect Dark single player at all, Multiplayer was not that bad though

I never remember actually playing Perfect Dark. So Im gonna have to go with Goldeneye 007 which I still think is the best first person shooter of all time.
