Forums - Gaming - Games that could make a difference: Wii vs PS3 (Japan)

According to Capcom, NoA prevents any company with bundling official Nintendo hardware with third party software. NoA policies are mind boggling and aggravating.

Welllll.... Nintendo could also just cut the price of the Wii, we all know they're making a huge profit on the thing. IMHO they should just bundle Wii Sports with the machine as well, like they do in all other regions. Why the HECK they don't do that is beyond me. Also, maybe it's time for some new colors and special edition Wiis. Those Japanese people go crazy about them. And Nintendo's already doing that with DS, 2 days can't go by without at least three new colors being announced and every RPG's release is celebrated with a special collector's edition custom DS. So, like, why not Wii?

But seriously now, I think a price cut, the inclusion of Wii Sports and some alternate colors (I humbly suggest black, pink, lime, blue and silver for Japan) could go a long way. A very long way.

They should do a MH3 (core) bundle and a Wii Sports Resort (casual) bundle. Win for everybody!

Well, not for Sony

Oh, yeah, I just listed the best potential sellers/ hardware movers. There's a lot of other unsignificant games I didn't list, because, yeah, that would be useless.

I think, Zucas, that The Last Remnant, End of Infinity, Ni-Oh and Gundam are going to be fairly big for the PS3. As for the Wii, I agree with your list, but will not add more since the Wii is unpredictable as a SW seller. I firmly believe the Wii needs a big core game release to attract hardcore gamers. So far it had none besides Zelda, and that's too little. Games like Rune Factory, Tenchu, Fragile, SkyCrawlers, etc could have done way better if the audience was there. MH3 needs to arrive very soon, very very soon, since that's the only hope. Muramasa, ARF and Kizuna may be doomed due to the fact that there's not an audience for those games and they are all new IP¡s therefore I doubt many people will be buying Wii's to play them, but I hope I'm wrong.

if you add Gundam for PS3, you have to add Gundam for Wii... Japanese love Gundam games!

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Yes but NoA cannot stop bundling software with hardware in Japan. Plus they did bundle software with the GC , and i think this same will happen with the Wii at some point in the future. But i do agree MH 3 bundle would be awesome for the Wii and for Capcom, i hope they think of something like that. Plus there will be definately more announcments from Nintendo itself (and some 3rd party) for Japanese market in 2009 that can have some sort of impact.
