MH3 will easily pass the 1 million mark, probably 1.5 million with a re-release so it should give the Wii a push. MHP3G will always be at the back of peoples minds though looking at the sales of these portable games. I expect MHP3G to tripple MH3 sales so that one should do 4.5 million.

Hmmm, 50k - 75k on its opening week won't give the Wii such a big bump. Probably the Wii will end up at 30k or 35k that week, still very weak compared to 2008. That's insignificant really, but the Wii is doing so bad right now that anything would seem good.

Agreed and well put. PS3 is putting up a heck of a fight in Japan this year, while Nintendo has let the Wii go in Japan. It seems like Nintendo don't even care anymore. If I were japanase based on the upcoming lineup, I would definitely pick up a PS3 and go with the company which is actually making an effort to sign up new and interesting software. The Wii in Japan looks a lot like the N64....long delays between any decent software, etc..

Found it, Golden week hits 1 week after MHG release. Wii could go up a bit higher, but so can the PS3 because of the FFXIII bundle. It's too weird there's no big game announced for that week. Oh wait, Pokemon DS is getting released (Mistery dungeon) 1 day before it. NVM me.

Good ideas, but I am sure Nintendo has some suits who have already thought about these beforehand. Why isn't Nintendo implementing it after seeing mediocre sales for the Wii for since this year started? Simple, Nintendo currently don't care about the Japanese market much.

A price drop for the PS3 in Japan and things will indeed start to become extremely interesting.......in that it outselling the Wii for a whole month will be no big deal at all. That is what I want so the PS3 gets more games, not a month of outselling the other console which in the big picture means diddily squat.
@Soriku: I like where you're going with that. So far Ninty has bundle peripherals and such, but I haven't seen them bundle hardware like the other two have yet with 3rd party software, would be interesting to see...
...BUT, I have to think the reason so far that Nintendo hasn't bundled like it's competitors yet is that it hasn't need to in order too sell hardware. *shrugs*
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
