While I don't agree with most of those organisations because I'm all for an integrated multicultural society I can see why they exist.

OK, in your opinion, do you think the existance of those groups increases, decreases, or has no effect on integrating a multicultural society?

I think that they probably increase integration largely due to my second point. However once the point where a group is no longer lagging behind in the statistics is reached I would probably prefer if most of those groups stopped existing (making exceptions for the media and political groups).

I don't see how your second point supports your reasoning that it increases integration. How does racialy distinct organizations help integration when they are segregated?

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Ok, strange direction in this thread, lol.

I guess I am Conservative. I am more of a Socialist, but in Canada our only Socialist party is too damn weak to make an impact, so I support the Conservatives over the Liberals.

Yeah, maybe this thread needs to go back on topic.
