Forums - Sony - Silent hill: Shattered Memories coming to PlayStation2

Konami has officially unveiled Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for Wii, PS2 and PSP. British studio Climax will develop and aims to release this autumn.

Shattered Memories re-imagines the first ever Silent Hill game. The story of father Henry Mason looking for his daughter remains the same, but there are extra clues, characters and paths to take this time.

Climax will use a more traditional control system for PSP and PS2, but both will sport the improved gameplay elements.

Well the Wii screens look far better than the vast majority of Wii games....and the PR clearly shows the Wii game is their main focus.

I've got to say that I am impressed at the PS2 support even. Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, Secret Agent Clank and now this. It's cool that they are keeping it alive. :)

Thats my thoughts also. I did not post it to bash the Wii, i did it in order to saw the support PS2 still gets. Motorstorm & the Clank game are sony games, this time is a 3rd party major(?) game.

It really cool from Sony that they are keeping it alive. 99$ and new games, it beginning to look like a great and cheap alternative. Also i am begining to understand why BC was removed from PS3

ooo never played a Silent Hill game before, might have to look this one up.

^^
Then you should get it, and some of the others

Homecoming is good also (PS3/360/PC)

I am not interested for the remake of the first silent hill though. I have finished the game 11 years ago, and for me it should stay there

Cheap cash in's are not my thing

I have no problem with that, as long as the Wii version is still up-to-par (i.e. better graphics than GC, or at least not worse, 480p and 60 fps).

Even with its dwindling hardware sales, the PS2 can still sell software well enough to make ports worthwhile.
