Forums - Microsoft - Who Here Actually Likes Microsoft?

I don't. They make great devlopment tools, and the xbox console is a solid product. They make good hardware when considering keyboards and mices. Some of the ideas behind .Net are very good. Some of their UI and OS research projects are very interesting, like surface or singularity.

So why don't I like them? Because everything good they've done I'm free to choose to use or buy, but everything wrong they did, they tried to ram it down the consumers' throats exploiting their marketshare.

Wait, wait, who copied ''Home'' button? Who is trying to copy Gran Turismo by launching Forza?

''Online copied from Xbox Live.''

LOL, PS2 also had some online games.Killzone,Project:Snowblind, Resident Evil Outbreak and some more. They were nothing compared to Xbox live but it was still ONLINE gaming.

''Motion Sensor copied from Wii.''

Weren't PS3 with Sixaxis and Wii launched in same month in same year?

Doesn't the last line sound like Sony?

Tease.

I am a Microsoft person through and through. I have what I would consider to be a largely Microsoft powered media setup in my home. My network consists of a gaming tower with Windows Vista, a laptop with Windows 7 Beta, and an Xbox 360. I am currently using Windows 7 to stream media over my network to my entertainment center, and occasionally do some streaming and Netflix stuff on the 360 as well.

In my eyes, MS has more or less made my home entertainment experience seamless. Their vision of being in the living room as well as on the PC is pretty much being fully fleshed out at my house right now.

Aside from the first couple months of Vista, I have had no problems with it. I installed it right after launch and it's still going strong for me. Fast and responsive on my gaming machine and NEVER crashes, at least not to the point where I have to reboot it. And Windows 7 Beta has been INCREDIBLE so far aside from the fact that they need to sort out some Media Player issues. I will admit that I'm on my second Xbox 360---my first one was getting the blue/green lines on the screen that usually preceed the E74 error. I was pissed, simply because I love gaming on the 360, but I feel MS has tried to make good on this. I got a free month of Live, and I think they've worked to sort out the hardware issues.

MS is the company that's popular to hate (usually unfounded) and Apple is the company that is popular to love (usually blind love, without any real knowledge of what else is out there.) It's ok. Both have their place. But I really feel like MS is on the verge of a rebirth. Windows 7 is already proving to be a good release, and beta testers are loving it so far. The 360 is a new success story for them. I think they're going to be just fine.

Well the 360 is my favorite console for this generation so .. well done for that Microsoft...

But as an ex Linux fanatic (yes...), I'm still having a lot of trouble being calm when facing a windows-bug...

IMO, Microsoft still has the image of an-evil company here in Europe...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Even as a Microsoft fan, I have often thought about trying Fedora 9 on my laptop.  We use it a little at work, and I kind of like it.  And it's free.  But at work it freezes up a lot, so I keep talking myself out of it.

I don`t like ms becuase of....oh just read my signature.

I think MS is awesome! I did not like Vista much but I'm sure they'll fix it with Windows 7 and I love the Xbox brand. What I love most about MS is how much hate MS gets from people that really have nothing good to do but hate on them. Can you imagine if Apple had won the PC war? There wouldn't be any freaking brands of graphics or sound cards or any peripherals for that matter cuz Apple likes to monoplize it all! (For those that don't believe me, how many PCs do you see with the Apple OP? Yea that's right, none!)

What are you looking at, nerd?
