Forums - Sony - So how's Warhawk?

Onyxmeth will be here and will spam this thread in a bit :P.He thinks it's the absolute best game on PS3.

I think it's the best exclusive on PS3. The best game on PS3 is Burnout Paradise.

Anyhoos I would recommend it. It's a really fun game, especially during capture the flag. Trying to escape in a jeep while firing the turret at following Warhawks as the music ramps up is incredibly badass. Few games have given me a similiar feeling of adrenaline.

@Kylie-Warhawks can easily be taken down. I once went like 28-0 in a match by taking down nothing but Warhawks using a rocket turret...the same one. They are beastly and only the best Warhawk pilots can outmaneuver those missiles once they get close enough.

Is there some kind of trick to doing that? I just dodged 2 attacks from one of those. I was holding L2/R2 and kinda flyin upsidedown and wasn't really movin around too much, but it somehow still caused the missiles to miss. The 3rd shot ended up getting me.

Now that I remember, I've seen some other people flyin upsidedown in a really weird way on a rare occasion. Does flyin like that actually do somethin?

I'd recommend it - still fun even if the balance can be a little off. If you play safe/sensible you can normally do well even against fantastic players.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

i wouldn't recommend it. I thought the guns were pretty rubbish, i had to figure out how to fly a war hawk as there was no manual and the plane is really hard to fly anyway and i didn't really get excited by it at all to be honest.

I'd still recommend it! The lack of helpful advice was somewhat shocking when the game first released, but now there are handy tutorial missions and the like to teach you all the basics of combat, flying, etc. before you launch into things.

Or you could take the plunge like the good old days... in which case I'd advise you grad a rocket launcher, remember the knife if you get behind someone and note that throwing land mines at enemies is terribly effective (so long as you aim is effective too).

Warhawk is that great game that's always fun to play whether its from time-to-time, or go all out and play it hardcore. I'd recommend it.

It's a fun game, but the learning curve is a little steep. They did add some tutorials with the trophy patch so you can learn the basic mechanics.

I cite this game as making the use of L2 in Killzone 2 for taking cover easy. People complain that the R2 and L2 are annoying, but flying (and to a lesser extent, driving a jeep) in Warhawk really requires you to use those buttons a lot for speed boosting, throttle, and making sliding turns. Heck, you'd probably be holding down all four shoulder buttons at the same time every once in a while.

I miss the Warhawk beta though because there were many dogfight servers. Once the game came out, those servers eventually disappeared.

what about the expansions are they mandatory in order to have fun and find populated servers ,and how do they change the gameplay?

Having an expansion pack is mandatory if a server is playing with content from that expansion pack. Otherwise, they're not required and you can find numerous games that aren't playing with content from an expansion pack.

It's been a while since I last played, but I believe there's an icon that shows which expansion pack(s) is enabled when you're looking at a server. However, if you're in a server and the next map in the rotation has content from an expansion pack, you'll be booted if you haven't purchased the required expansion pack.

your sig is scary lol
