For my tastes whatever has a display is an iPod Shuffle killer, I want a display in my mp3 player.

For those of us who want an inexpensive iPod, but still want to deal with iTunes :P

Oh man, why don't Sony give up on the whole 'Walkman' idea already. That was a fine product 2 decades ago, but you'd figure they're losing enough money as is to try and take on the iPod.

If I can genuinely drag-and-drop from iTunes onto this, I will buy one tomorrow.

You can...kind of...I think.

You can drag and drop non-DRM music to it for sure but I doubt it will play the iTunes music that has DRM's.  You can strip the DRM off the music you bought from iTunes but that's a pain in the ass (but doable at least).

Eventually all music bought from iTunes won't have a DRM attached to it anymore, but I forget when that takes effect and don't know what will happen with music that already has the DRM attached to it.

wow this thread hasn't gotten some major posting. I'm not going to read it all.

I don't own an Apple anything. I have never bought an Apple PMP ever. I'm not saying I don't or won't I just find that i'm an elite geek upstream feature set liking person when it comes to this kind of thing.

I do say this though. The new Sony product won'y make a dent in anything. Sony originaly portable radio and crappy qaulity, but it sold to people becuase it was small portable and offered something that the compititors didn't. Convience. This new one doesn't do anything special in the convience department. In the end it actually seems to be less convienent.

I like the headphones go behind my head. I still don't think this will go anywhere though. Plus the joggers is such a small market of? Sony seems to lost it's way on how to target larger demographics.

It's actually the most convenient gadget I think I've ever seen.
