correct me if im wrong but PS3 and Wii are more reliable? Anyway i dont see what the problem is, MS will fix it for free so that it doesnt matter if it brakes. Theres a 3 year warranty right?

so why the hell did you use the word NEVER?

Tad jumpy are we?

I have little sympathy for people who post that their 360 has broken 3 times. Move on. Sell it. Buy something more reliable. That's what I did. The 360 is now almost 4 years old, and is still, by far, the console most likely to break/fail. It's not worth your time or money if it's going to cause you frustsrion. Sorry if I've come off as a dick, but your problems are quite likely to persist if you stick with it. The end.

I don't know why people keep going back for more.  Quite honestly as comparable as the PS3/360 are.  Is it really worth the hassle to own a 360?    I mean I loved my PS2 but after my first one broke.  I started playing Xbox/GC quite a bit more.  It just wasn't worth it.

Three times though?  My 360s disc tray broke (Which isn't covered under the warranty) and will cost me $110).  I still haven't sent it in.  I refuse to continue the cycle of supporting junk hardware.

^i already have a ps3 though... And i need 360 for halo ect, and thus have to live with whatever problems that might occur. Just needed to lose some frustration=)

Oh I understand your dilemma, I really do.  Personally,  I just sacrificed the games that i enjoyed on my 360, (Gears/Mass Effect specifically) cancelled my live subscription and haven't turned back.   I just refuse to keep lining Microsofts pockets with more money because they made a faulty piece of hardware.  What message does that send to them?  I believe it sends them the message that as long as their product is cheap,  then I will tolerate historically high failure rates.   I just don't want to support that.

The last thing in the world I want to see is their approach to software/operating systems mirrors their approach to hardware.

@Rpruett. Exactly. Even beyond one's own issuses, it's a problem the entire userbase deals with. I don't want to help perpetuate somthing like that.
@masterb8tr. Well, if you can deal with it, good on you I guess, you're more patient than me.
